Pupil Premium 2017/18


The Pupil Premium Grant provides funding for:


  • Raising the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and closing the gap with their peers


  • Supporting children and young people with parents in the armed forces


Schools are free to spend the PPG as they see fit but are responsible for its use with the target groups.  The grant does not all have to be spent within the financial year and some or all of it may be carried forward.  The governing body is responsible for the outcomes on achievement of the use of this funding.

Individual support to encourage independence in toileting & feeding . 1:1 support to implement OT or physio programmes to develop gross and fine motor skills & muscle strength

Improve consistency and quality across school and enable targeted interventions to take place.

Adventure Service



To raise pupils confidence, self esteem, resilience and improve motivation and behavior in lessons.  Reduction in behaviour incidents.


TA Support - Therapies


Access to bereavement therapy, draw and talk and anger management with grade 5 TA’s.  To improve resilience, emotional stability, behavior and engagement in lessons.


Music Therapy


15 pupils access a therapist 1:1 or in small groups to encourage communication skills, turn taking, understanding of emotions


Movement Therapy


10 pupils access a therapist 1:1


Occupational Therapist


Sensory Assessments + support and advice to teachers and parents about appropriate strategies to improve engagement of more complex pupils

Intervention Teacher 2 days per week




Individual or small groups work to boost progress in maths, phonics, reading.









All teachers track the interventions that students in receipt of pupil premium receive.  These are entered onto a table that is kept in the online pupil report file and the impact of these intervention is recorded termly.   The attainment data is also recorded on the tracking document to easily identify pupils not making expected progress within the year.
