KS3 presentation on WW1 child soldiers

This afternoon KS3 attended a presentation on local child soldiers during WW1 from Mrs Riley, a retired member of the RAF.

Mrs Riley informed us about how local boys as young as 12 signed up to fight in the Great War and how Sir Arthur Markham, an MP for Mansfield and colliery owner went to Parliament to oppose the use of underage soldiers.

The talk was very informative and all 4 classes enjoyed the afternoon.
