Happy Easter!

We can't wait to see you back here on 15/04. 

We have had a great week here in Caterpillars. We have been doing some fabulous painting in Art and practising our fabulous mixing skills in DT. We made some delicious Easter cakes 😋.

We have had a fantastic couple of weeks here in Caterpillars, some have been exploring our movement room and some have been engaging in community activities, where we go to the local park. 

In maths, we have been listening to the '10 green bottles' song and have been counting down. The Caterpillars absolutely loved knocking down the bottles as we sang!

This week, we have had a visit from Jo Jingles! Jo Jingles is a fun, educational & interactive music, singing and movement class for Caterpillars to enjoy. We had the best time, the children really enjoyed it. We enjoyed singing, heads, shoulders, knees and toes and saying hello to the friendly spider! 

Can we believe Christmas is here already?! Where has that term gone? A whole term of Caterpillars class!

Our last week has been filled with Christmas cheer! We have been making some Christmas crafts, focusing on colour in Maths and singing along to our favourite songs!

It's been lovely to see so many of you come to our Christmas sessions, some enjoyed a sing-a-long with Jo Jingles and some created some lovely crafts!

Wow! What a busy and exciting week we have had in Caterpillars. We started off our week with snow! We brought some inside and all the children enjoyed holding and squeezing the snow - it was so cold! 

In Maths, we have been exploring 3D shapes, some of us have been building tall towers and some have been matching up 3D shapes to symbols.

In English we have been learning the words and signs to 'The Wheels on the Bus' and we are really enjoying doing the actions!

Over the last couple of weeks in DT we have been learning how to make our own sandwiches and today we have been practising again! 

In Science, we have been exploring different switches and learning how to turn things on and off. We have been looking at our sensory lights, turning them on and off and learning how to change the colour. 

This week, we have had a new game delivered into our class called Gears Gears Gears! Movin' Monkeys! Alongside developing our turn taking skills it also helps with:

• Encouraging creative thinking as children build a jungle filled with monkeys
• Developing fine motor skills as our learners piece the cogs and gears together
• Helps the understanding of cause and effect.

The game was very popular and we created a fantastic jungle!

This week, it was money week and half of the class went out into the community to visit the cafe and pay for a snack whilst the others stayed at school and played shops. Money week has been a huge success!

In our computing lessons, we have been looking at how to use the interactive whiteboard and choosing our favourite nursery rhymes on there. 

Our first week back after half term has been a busy success!

Our final week in Caterpillars before half term has been a busy one. We have been exploring and identifying 2D shapes in Maths, mark making in English and using pulleys in DT. We have made good use of the lovely weather and have been out on top yard and the field. 

We hope you all have a lovely break of half term and we can't wait to see you back on 6th November.

This week, the Caterpillars have been exploring different environments around school. We have visited our trim trial, the sensory room and the movement room. The children have really enjoyed showing us how confident and sensibly they can walk around school.

We have had lots of messy play out this week and the Caterpillars just love getting messy! 

We have had a great couple of weeks here in Caterpillars. We have been getting to know each other very well. Our Caterpillars have thoroughly enjoyed our new PE sessions and exploring our inside and outside areas in the class. 

We have made it to the summer holidays!
