Latest News from Bracken Hill School and our community
Members of Clumber and Thoresby classes took part in the North Notts Table Cricket competition on Wednesday 20th March 2024. Everyone had a chance to field and bat, and in the end we finished in joint 3rd place.
A special mention needs to be made of Hollie in Clumber class who achieved the highest score across all 5 schools that was taking part.
Well done everyone
Thankyou to everyone who came along and supported our Christmas Fayre on Friday night. It was so lovely to see past pupils and so many of our current ones having lots of fun within their friendship groups.
6 students from KS4 enjoyed a day out at an Hospitality Open day held at the Cleaver and Wake restaurant in Nottingham.
The day started with a talk on all the different career options available within the hospitality industry and where you can go after you finish school. We then went on a guided tour of the restaurant and learnt how to use our senses when describing different drinks / foods. This was followed by a demonstration from the Head Chef, Hira Thakur. He demonstrated how to prepare fresh oysters, a very tasty looking venison main dish, followed by some popcorn ice cream made using liquid ice. Our students even had the opportunity to sample the dishes which Mrs Davis was very jealous of!
After lunch our 6 students amazed us and the lady presenting the afternoon session when they set a dinning table by themselves.
On Tuesday 10th October members of Bracken Hill School took part in an all day football tournament held at Dawn House School. Out of 7 games we lost 1, drew 1 and won 5. Everyone showed great sportsmanship and was a credit to the school.
