    Safeguarding at Bracken Hill

At Bracken Hill School, safeguarding and child protection are at the heart of everything we do.

We are fully committed to promoting the safety, wellbeing, and welfare of all our pupils. We have strong safeguarding systems in place, and any concerns are taken seriously, recorded carefully, and acted upon promptly in line with statutory guidance. Our focus is always on acting in the best interests of the child.

We recognise that some of our pupils may be more vulnerable. Staff are well-trained, vigilant, and confident in identifying concerns and taking appropriate action to ensure children are supported and protected.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All staff, governors, volunteers, and visitors understand their role in keeping children safe and promoting their wellbeing.

    What safeguarding means

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children includes:

    • Protecting children from harm, including abuse or neglect
    • Preventing harm to children’s mental and physical health or development
    • Ensuring children grow up in safe, supportive environments with effective care
    • Taking action to enable all children to achieve the best possible outcomes

    Working with other services

We work closely with a range of partner agencies to ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time. These include:

    • Nottinghamshire Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
    • Early Help services
    • Social care, health professionals, and other safeguarding partners

This joined-up approach enables us to respond quickly and effectively to concerns and provide coordinated support when needed.
