Through our three pathways, Explorers, Adventurers and Pioneers, we ensure that teaching, learning and support are carefully matched to each pupil's strengths, needs and aspirations. 

Our curriculum is built around the values of Enjoy, Believe and Achieve, enabling pupils to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for successful adult lives. From early communication and engagement through to qualifications, employability and preparation for adulthood, every learner follows a pathway that promotes progress, independence and personal achievement. 

Explorers Pathway

The Explorers Pathway supports learners at the earliest stages of development. Through sensory-rich, play-based and highly personalised experiences, pupils develop communication, engagement, independence and an understanding of the world around them. 

Adventurers Pathway

The Adventurers Pathway provides a structured and practical curriculum that develops communication, functional skills, independence and subject knowledge. Learning is brought to life through real-world experiences, helping pupils build confidence and prepare for their future. 

Pioneers Pathway

The Pioneers Pathway supports learners accessing a more formal curriculum and accredited learning. Alongside developing literacy, numeracy and subject knowledge, pupils are prepared for adulthood through careers education, work-related learning, independence skills and recognised qualifications. 

Across all pathways, we maintain high aspirations for every pupil, ensuring that each learner is supported to achieve their potential and make a positive contribution to their community and future destination.
