Careers education is at the heart of everything we do here at Bracken Hill School, right from Early Years all the way through our post-16 college. This comprises a mix of work-related learning, independence skills, health and community inclusion, as appropriate for each individual child.
We work closely with our Careers Co-ordinator Julia Matthews at the CEC and our Enterprise Advisor, Martin Rigley OBE of Lindhurst Engineering, as well as Ashfield District Council.
Other regular contributors to our careers provision include Gary Jordan MBE, The Acre community kitchen, Takeover Radio and ATTFE, Sam's Place Rainworth, Lashes charity shop, Rumbles Cafe, Basford College, Evolve Transition Trust, Shane Gunstone of Asmech Systems and Ashfield Fire Station.
Through Futures for Business and Speakers for Schools, we also have regular access to high quality encounters with the world of work through webinars, virtual work experience and taster days.
On this page, you will find our careers-related policies, programme and provision, as well as information relevant to students, parents/carers and businesses/providers.

Whether you are a parent, carer, governor or friend of our school who could tell our students about their working life and career journey, a local employer who values links with a potential workforce and customers of the future, or a former student who could give us a taste of life after Bracken Hill, I would love to hear from you. Please contact me: Mrs Gregory, 01623477268 or fill in the form below. Thank you!
